Cultural Activities and Excursions

An Immersive Experience to Complement French Language and Cultural Learning

Throughout the year, the Institut de Touraine offers cultural, sports, and gastronomic activities. These experiences invite you to discover French traditions and heritage in a friendly atmosphere and complement language learning. Their frequency increases in the summer, when more than 400 students attend courses at the Institute.

Excursions and Guided Tours

To help its audience discover French culture, the Institut de Touraine offers guided tours of the city of Tours, museums, and world-renowned sites: the castles of Chenonceau, Chambord, Amboise, Mont-Saint-Michel, Paris, La Rochelle…

Culinary Workshops

Would you like to learn how to taste Touraine wines or local cheeses? To prepare French culinary recipes such as crêpes, macarons, or the traditional galette des rois? The Institute’s wine and cooking workshops introduce students to French gastronomic heritage.

Film Club: Screenings Followed by Discussions

French film screenings are offered weekly as part of the film club. Subtitled in French, the films are first introduced, followed by discussions with the students.

As the capital of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Tours attracts over 5,000 international students each year. Outside of classes, they discover the gentle way of life, Renaissance castles, and French culture and gastronomy here… The Institut de Touraine promotes this immersion through a rich program of activities.
